DESCRIPTION:
Sindabezi Island is unique – the discerning traveler’s best kept secret. An idyllic, exclusive camp on its very own private isle on the Zambezi River, it is a luxury bush camp from where Victoria Falls can comfortably be explored. Experience the large number of activities in the area during the day and return to a tranquil haven, a thousand light years away from the bustle at night. Sindabezi Island is currently one of the top 10 eco lodges in Africa according to Fodor’s.
The majestic Zambezi River flows past your open-sided chalet, and you share the Zambian days and nights at Sindabezi Island Lodge with the resident hippos, elephants, and crocodiles in the waters below your deck. This accredited international ecolodge is miles away from any tourist bustle, offering a tranquil, remote and romantic safari haven.
Sindabezi has only five open-sided thatched cottages, allowing guests to soak up the sights and sounds of the African bush in the perfect, pristine setting. Views across the flood plains of the Zambezi and into the nearby National Park complete the experience. Take in the riverside vistas from any one of five thatched chalets, built on stilts above the Zambezi River. Open sides allow instant connection with nature, and hurricane lamps provide a soft glow to your scenic dining occasions.
Sindabezi Island is located on a secluded paradise island that is near the Victoria Falls and is surrounded by the Zambezi National Park. The area allows for exquisite views of surrounding wildlife and the magnificent Zambezi River. During a short boat ride or a guided canoe trip down the Zambezi, guests are exposed to game viewing opportunities, as they pass the shores of Zimbabwe where many animals wander from the Zambezi National Park to drink water at the river's edge.
A dedicated team of staff is always on hand to guarantee your every comfort during your Zambia vacation. At night, the main camp is transformed into a world of yesteryear, with the absence of electricity adding to the romance and charm of this magical island. Five-star dining on the sand, under the canopy of stars, with the river meandering past and the unmistakable sounds of Hippos wallowing nearby, assure an experience never to be forgotten.
