Inzalo Safari Lodge is an intimate tented luxury lodge in the spectacular Welgevonden Game Reserve, a vast 40,000 hectare ‘Big Five’ protected wilderness within the UNESCO Waterberg Biosphere of South Africa’s scenic Limpopo Province.

A mere 2.5-hour drive or an easy 45-minute flight from Johannesburg into one of the reserve’s two airstrips, makes the Welgevonden one of the most accessible premier malaria-free reserves in the country.

Inzalo Lodge, a Zulu name suggesting "to be reborn", is situated along the crystal clear Sterkstroom River, where each of the five luxurious tented safari suites provides panoramic views of the river and Waterberg sandstone cliff beyond. The main lodge is an airy and welcoming retreat, with large open spaces extending onto an expansive deck and bar area with spectacular views. The décor and design combine modern comforts with understated luxury to create warm and inviting spaces where guests can mingle, dine, enjoy a refreshing beverage or simply soak in the views.

Privately owned and managed with a passionate and dedicated team, Inzalo Lodge offers the opportunity to escape, explore and submerge oneself in the daily rhythm of the African bush. Safari experiences abound and include daily game drives, on-site birding, river walks, track and sign identification, bush walks, visits to San paintings, bush picnics and more.

Each custom-designed tented safari suites have been positioned to provide maximum privacy, solitude and breath-taking views. Each suite features a private deck with splash pool, en-suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers, spacious bedroom, lounge area, well-stocked bar fridge and Wi-Fi connectivity.

As a result of the reserve’s diverse landscapes, in addition to Big Five sightings, visitors can enjoy encounters with over 50 mammal species, 250 bird species and some of the bush’s most beautiful wildflowers that make their appearance in early spring.
